Every time I photograph a senior of one of my friends, I have this moment of reality – we only get a finite amount of time with our kids. It seems to stretch on and on at first, but then seems to speed up the older they get. I’m pretty certain Ryleigh’s parents feel the same way as she begins her last year of high school and prepares to go on to college. They are most certainly cherishing this last year with her and looking forward to watching what great things she will, no doubt, do with her life. I know I will! (And congrats, Ryleigh, on being a National Merit Semifinalist – WOW!!!)PINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPIN

Returning clients give me the warm fuzzies. It’s so nice to get to watch everybody grow and change over the years. It’d been a couple of years since I last saw them all, and so I got to enjoy the newest family member – a ridiculously smiley baby girl! We decided to photograph them with a bit of a train theme and were able to use an old train car on it’s own separate piece of track. Swoon! Plus, later in the evening, I got serenaded by the kids, singing and playing their instruments. Even the sweet little one had her own maraca. I was dying. Hope you enjoy these – it was a super fun time!

I so enjoyed getting to meet Ethan and photograph him for his senior year! As usual, it was super hot and windy – typical August in Oklahoma. But Ethan handled it like a total pro. So thankful for awesome clients like him!Downtown Senior Guy Session - Christie Mellor PhotographyPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINUntil Next Time,

Some families are just an extra pleasure to work with! And Christian’s family is one I’ve enjoyed several times, so when it came time to photograph Christian for his senior year, it was just that much more fun! And because they have such a history in Stillwater, what better place to capture him? We got to wander around, looking for great locations and light – he couldn’t have been an easier subject. And because Christian loves to run, we got to end the night at the OSU track with the most amazing sky! It was a great evening spent with the nicest guy. Thanks, Christian!PINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPINPIN

I tend to think of the word “expectant” as simply another word for pregnant. But when I think about all the love, special moments and adventures a couple dreams of and longs for when expecting a baby, it just deepens everything about that word. So as I photographed this mom-to-be and father-to-be, there were all these visions of how happy their future is about to be in my head. I am so excited for them both and cannot wait to meet their baby boy!
